Building Automation Services
Building Automation Services (BAS) is part of the University of Michigan’s Facilities Maintenance department. BAS implements schedule and operational changes for various types of equipment, and monitors the general fund campus building automation systems for alarm conditions and energy efficient operation.

Energy Billing System (EBS)
The University of Michigan’s energy billing system (EBS) significantly improved the accuracy and reliability of both our utility purchasing and billing procedures. In addition, this system provides customers with web based access for retrieving billing information on both current and historical charges as well as providing flexible reporting tools.

Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute

Plant Blue
Planet Blue, a University of Michigan campus-wide educational and outreach campaign, will serve as the platform for introducing the university community to the Wolverine Teams. The Wolverine Teams are one of the six-points in the University’s Environmental and Energy Initiative (EEI) an outcome of the President’s Environmental Task Force to plan for UM to develop a more sustainable future. The EEI seeks to make the campus a more sustainable environment in the wake of rising energy costs, climate change concerns, and depleting resources.

Waste Management Services
The department coordinates all waste reduction and recycling education and promotion efforts on campus. In addition to paper and containers, several other materials are collected such as scrap metal, wood, polystyrene, and electronic media (CD’s, tapes, etc.)
